New HLF Laureate Portrait – Alessio Figalli

A brand new year brings many new things, but for us it means we are now celebrating the tenth anniversary of the Heidelberg Laureate Forum Foundation (HLFF)! All year in our lead-up to the 10th Heidelberg Laureate Forum (HLF) and beyond, we will be showcasing many new features, retrospectives and updates to our usual formats, all to celebrate ten years of the Heidelberg Laureate Forum Foundation.

To kick things off, we are releasing the first of our newly updated HLF Laureate Portraits – this time shining the spotlight on the 2018 Fields Medal recipient Alessio Figalli, who received the award for "contributions to the theory of optimal transport and its applications in partial differential equations, metric geometry and probability." We sit down with him to discuss his life and career, his passion for mathematics as well as his achievements in the field.
